Description

From the Author

Practical experience of the power of Celtic and Druid lore.

Hello! The Druid Animal Oracle is designed to give you a hands-on, immediate and practical experience of the power of Celtic and Druidic lore. In Celtic mythology and in the teaching of the Druids, animals are understood as sacred, and they each offer a special kind of gift to us: of healing, of inspiration, of teaching, of power. Here in this Oracle we have taken 33 of the most sacred animals of the Celtic and Druid tradition, and have interpreted their gifts for the modern reader, so that even in this busy and stressful modern world we can be helped and guided with this ancient lore. We’ve included as well the stories, folklore and myths associated with each animal, and practical suggestions for how you can work with the animals and the oracle to transform your life. Bill Worthington has produced the most stunning pictures of each of the animals, drawn with incredible detail and precision, using sacred geometry, and has also created the silver artwork that adorns the divination cloth included with each oracle.

The Druid Animal Oracle (DAO) represents the combined efforts of the current Chief and a few other members of the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids (OBOD), one of the better known druid orders in the world today, to reconnect us with the sorts of messages one can receive from the totems of the ancient celts. Beautifully illustrated (by master Bill Worthington) the DAO offers an interesting and unusual source of wisdom and insight, especially for those who don't feel right with one of the heavier divinatory systems such as tarot. A one-of-a-kind, it has enriched my life greatly and I'm happy to recommend it.

A wonderful introduction into the totems of Celtic lore

I find P. Carr-Gomm to be one of the two most influential people in the modern day Druid movment. The D.A.O. is a wonderful way to associate oneself with the nature of druidry, and open up to the spirt of Awen. Its one of the first thing I tell people to get if they wish to enter the Druid Path.

This is my first "divination" purchase, and I must say I'm really very pleased with it. The cards themselves are beautifully illustrated and the accompanying book is clear, concise and provides a page or two of lore relevant to each animal.

Those who know their Ogham should pay close attention to the borders of each individual card.

Another thing I liked was the emphasis on positive thinking - some divinatory systems pronounce the worst sort of doom on the luckless individual who draws a reversed card. The Druid Animal Oracle however, deals with indications from reversed cards as challenges, and adds that by keeping factors X,Y and Z in mind, you will find your situation (whatever it may be) easier to deal with.

I've used the Druid Animal Oracle almost daily for three months now, and it still has a 100% 'hit' rate.

I'm really happy with it, and if I was stood next to you now, I'd say "Buy it".
