Stretching nearly from the Pole to the Equator, North America is a vast and varied land defined by surrounding oceans, mountainous backbone, great shoulders of open plains, dense woodlands, endless ice, and tropical beaches. Its flora and fauna, including the humans who call it "home," share that character of rich diversity.
