If you want to do some conservation work within an ancient woodland then please get in
touch with me directly and we will organize a time that suits both of us. Different activities will be relevant for different times of the year and for all levels of physical fitness! Things you may wish to come and do could include:
- The collection of Bluebell seed - for use in recently planted woods.
- Thinning very small trees to favour native species.
- Making bird boxes/ bat boxes and then putting them up.
- Planting trees.
If you have any other ideas then please get in touch and we’ll see what we can work out!
Cost : £10 (covering insurance and other basic costs)
FFI or to arrange a visit: contact Francis897 [at] aol [dot] com( Stephen)
If you are interested in what exactly is meant by Ancient Woodland there is an article up in the environment section of the TDN website. Just under 1.5 % of the U.K. is ancient woodland so if you have the time why not come and

GLASTONBURY GODDESS TEMPLE
The Courtyard, 2-4 High Street, Glastonbury, Somerset, BA6 9DU
Glastonbury Goddess Temple Special News!!!
We
are delighted to inform you that as from 18th June 2003 the Goddess
Temple in Glastonbury, Somerset, England has been formally registered
as a Place of Worship.
We believe that we are the
first indigenous Goddess Temple in the British Isles (Brigit's Isles)
to be officially recognised as a place of worship for perhaps 1500
years. This is an herstoric event since for the first time a sacred
space has been recognised, which does not rest within patriarchal
religious belief systems, but within the arms of the Goddess, who is the
divine feminine.
The Goddess Temple is usually
open to the public for prayer, ceremony, meditation and worship on
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00noon-4.00pm.
Ceremonies in praise of the Goddess take place on these days. While the
Temple is open Temple Melissas are in attendance to look after the
space, perform ceremonies, offer healing, etc.. We hold large public
Goddess ceremonies every six weeks, which are attended by 60-80 people.
The Temple is open to the public additionally for 3-4 days at this
time. We also hold large Goddess ceremonies during the annual
Glastonbury Goddess Conference. The Goddess Temple is used for
ceremonies for individuals, such as, Handfastings, Rites of Passage,
etc., and for healing and Goddess teaching sessions.
If
you would like to help or make a donation to the first public Goddess
Temple in Europe please contact Brian Charles Tel 44(0)1458 830724
Website www.goddesstemple.co.uk
Future Ceremony dates,
when the Temple is open to all are given in the main Events pages as
