Bramble as Ally
Muin is a plant that I never quite trust, and it is in that quality that she teaches so beautifully. She is tender innocence, naivete, fresh beauty and hope, yet utterly within the prickly rough wasteland of nature. She speaks of love, aspiration, inspiration, yet she is also clinging and resentful. She can be sweet or sour. So the bramble guides us to understand how we can be intoxicated by hope, ambition, passion; she shows us how to hope, and how to die back gracefully to fight again another day. (ERO)
